Online games are supposed to be fun, and while many develop a good sense of sportsmanship after playing in competitive gaming, there are a few that become addicted to winning, even if it’s a shallow one. Yes, there are cheaters in games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

To combat this, Valve has announced that it will be offering a matchmaking service in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, specifically for players who have their phone number linked to their Steam account. Should anyone be found cheating, their phone number will be banned, resulting in a ban in the game.

In addition to this, Valve has also said that this method will be on a platform-wide basis. Anyone found cheating in any game on Steam will have their phone number banned, resulting in the ban of any accounts associated with that number. The ban lasts three months.
