Because a picture is worth a thousand words, the iOS version of WhatsApp has been updated with the ability to add filters onto the photos, videos, and GIFs from within the app before sending them. Right now are five filters for you to choose from: Black and White, Cool, Chrome, Film, and Pop. Safe to say that you can expect the list to grow in the future.

If you often find yourself being bombarded with vacation photos and videos from your friends, you will definitely appreciate the fact that WhatsApp will now automatically collate photos into an album for you, saving you the need to tirelessly scroll through a stream of images.

Lastly, you will no longer need to long-press a specific message to quote and respond to it, as you can now do so by simply swiping it towards the right.

Bear in mind that these features are currently only available on the iOS version of WhatsApp. When asked if Android users will be receiving the same set of features, a spokesperson for WhatsApp told TechCrunch that “We’d like to add these features to the Android app in the future, but do not have timing to share yet.”
