What is the most wanted gift this Christmas?

As the festive season goes into full swing, investment bank and asset management firm Piper Jaffray conducted a survey of 1,000 people to find out their most wanted gift this Christmas.

The result is hardly surprising; 7.2 percent  wants the iPhone 7, which is up from 5.2 percent in 2015. Second in line is the MacBook with 2.1 percent of the people surveyed wanting the notebook.

"The percentage of people who wanted an iPhone [was 7.2 percent]. That was the No. 1 requested gift. It was [5.2 percent] in 2015," Munster said, referring to the findings of Piper Jaffray's fifth annual Holiday Spending Intentions Survey.

Across the board, the Apple brand continued to dominate mindshare for the festive season. To put that into perspective, Apple's total mindshare is over 10 percent while the rest of the top 10 list adds up to a mere 4.6 percent! Other devices on the list include Xbox, PlayStation, GoPro, Fitbit and drones.
