Western Digital has just updated its My Book Duo desktop storage system, and there is now a new 20TB option.

The My Book Duo is Western Digital's RAID-optimized desktop storage system. It comes with two WD Red drives and can be configured in either RAID 0 or RAID 1, depending on whether users want redundancy or more performance.Western Digital says the new My Book Duo can attain sequential read speeds of up to 360MB/s.

The new My Book Duo now comes in 4TB, 6TB, 8TB, 12TB, 16TB, and 20TB capacities. The new My Book Duo connects to your computer using a single USB Type-C port that supports USB 3.1 Gen 1 speeds of up to 5Gbps.

It can also work a mini USB hub of sorts as it comes with two additional USB 3.0 Type-A ports that can be used to connect to and for charging other devices. These two USB ports also support USB 3.1 Gen 1 speeds of up to 5Gbps.

256-bit AES encryption is also supported by using the WD Security software. The new My Book Duo drives will be arriving in Malaysia sometime in October, with prices starting at US$279 (~RM1,194) for 4TB model and upwards to US$849 (~RM3,633) for the 20TB model.
