Viber has announced version 4.0 of its VoIP app for the iPhone and Android, which introduces push-to-talk feature for both platforms. For the service, Viber will be using a special technology that minimizes the time spent waiting between voice messages. Rather than record, send, download, and play (taking around 45-60 seconds for an average 15 second voice message), Viber push-to-talk does the recording, sending and playing all at once to turn around voice messages in four to six seconds.

Viber also introduced a Sticker Market, with over 300 stickers and even more to come. It is the first paid feature for the free calling and messenger app. Additional app updates include message forwarding to any group or contact, new conversation backgrounds, and group conversations with up to 100 participants.

The app is now available on Google Play and Apple App Store.
