U Mobile and WeChat partner up to entice visitors from China

U Mobile is not only catering to the needs of locals and our heavy data consumption habits, but also that of visitors from China. The telco has just recently announced the launch of the U Mobile WeChat Go SIM, in partnership with the Tencent-owned social media app and platfrom WeChat.

So what can users expect from this exclusive co-branded prepaid SIM pack? Most importantly is – obviously – unlimited data to be used with WeChat itself and the video streaming service Lingcod TV, as well as free subscription to the latter. For other uses, there’s 5GB of data allocated to be used throughout the 15-day validity period, as well as another 1GB for roaming when traveling to Singapore, Thailand or Indonesia. SMS sent to Malaysian numbers will also be free, and users will also get 60 talk time combined for local calls and IDD calls to China.

The U Mobile WeChat Go SIM pack will be available starting December 6, 2017, and will be priced at RM38.00. Since it’s aimed at Chinese tourists, it will naturally be available across various international airports in the country. Beyond that, it will still be available at any of the 138 U Mobile outlets across the country.
