Casio recently unveiled the latest addition to its TR line of selfie cameras, the TR mini (TR-M11).

Sporting a clamshell design, the TR mini looks almost like a travel-size makeup kit. Within the body is a 10.5MP camera surrounded by a ring of eight LED lights, which offers users greater control of the lighting. With a 21mm wide-angle lens, the TR mini can easily fit you and your friends in the frame.

“Using the eight LED lights, we can provide uniform lighting from any angle, but also we can illuminate just the left or right sides of the faces to create various looks. It’s the same thing as when you go to a photo studio and there are lights from various directions," said Takashi Niida, Manager, Digital Imaging, Casio.

In addition to the ring flash, the TR mini also offers a slew of (self-explanatory) beautification modes, including Shadow, Slim, and Sculpt. These allow users to enhance their selfies by removing dark circles, moles, and more.

The TR mini also captures social network-ready photos, ideal for apps like Instagram and Facebook. In addition, the camera can also be configured to automatically transfer photos to your smartphone via Bluetooth. Priced at US$500 (~RM2,112), the TR mini is expected to be released in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore. No word on a local release at the time of writing.
