Sony Mobile Malaysia launches dual SIM variant of the Xperia Z3+

You've read about the Sony Xperia Z3+ (known as the Z4 in its homeland) and have probably wondered when it'll arrive in our shores. Well, wonder no more, as the Sony Xperia Z3+ is now here in Malaysia. And better yet, in its local incarnation, it comes in its dual SIM variant.

From L-R: Lawrence Lim, Business Manager, Sony Mobile Malaysia and Andrew Cheong, Country Director, Sony Mobile Malaysia at the launch event.

As with all the other Xperia Z devices before this, the Z3+ is a waterproof smartphone, this time with an IP65/68 rating, even without a cap covering the USB port. Covered in the familiar aluminium frame and glass panels, it is now also thinner and lighter, measuring at 6.9mm and 144g.

Camera has also been another strong point of Sony's mobile phones. The 20.7MP main camera is back, with an Exmor RS sensor, BIONZ mobile processing engine and a 25mm wide-angle G lens. The front camera has also been beefed up, sporting an Exmor R sensor.

The Xperia Z3+ does away with the cap over the USB port and still maintains its IP68 rating.

Sony Mobile Malaysia also tore down (sort of) the Z3+ so that you don't have to.

The Sony Xperia Z3+ will be available from July 29 at RM2,599, in Copper and Black. There are White and Aqua Green colors as well, but as of yet, there's no word on if they're coming over to this part of the globe.
