Sony Cyber-shot RX100, Built for Premium Compact Users

Sony has just launched its latest Cyber-shot RX100 compact camera, which is targeted towards a more premium market. Offering a large 1.0-type Exmor CMOS sensor (13.2 x 8.8mm), the unit is capable of taking great images in 20.2MP sizes.

In addition to this, Sony has also paired the RX100 with an extremely fast F1.8 Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T 3.6x optical zoom lens for great images with a stunning ‘bokeh’ effect. This fast lens, combined with the RX100’s extended sensitivity of ISO 25600, makes taking low-light photographs incredibly easy.

The LCD panel comes in a standard 3-inch size, but comes with an extremely high 1,229k dot resolution and debuts the new WhiteMagic technology that uses white pixels in addition to RGB to boost screen brightness.

For the more artistic photographers, there are also a wide range of creative filters available, including Toy Camera, Partial Color, Pop Color, HDR Painting, Miniature, Illustration, Watercolor and more.

The new Sony Cyber-shot RX100 camera will be available at selected Sony outlets starting August 2012.
