Samsung reveals more info about its ISOCELL image sensor, could appear in the S9

Remember Samsung's four sub-brands of ISOCELL image sensors which it revealed at 2017 MWC Shanghai? Not much is known about the image sensors until today when the company published a page on one of the ISOCELL image sensors.

One of the new tidbits revolves around the 3-stack fast readout sensor which can record slow-mo video at 480 fps in Full HD (1080p)! Technically speaking, the sensor should also be able to record video at 960 fps in HD (720p). And if the Galaxy S9 comes with this image sensor, it would be one of the few phones in the market that can record super slow-mo videos.

There is also a mention about "Super PD" (Super Phase Detection) autofocus; the image sensor can identify the distance of fast-moving subjects in low light conditions for faster and accurate autofocusing.

Samsung has confirmed that it would be announcing the Galaxy S9 next month although the launch date is likely to be 26 February, the first day of MWC 2018. A purported retail box of the handset also provided some hints of what to expect.
