The public beta of watchOS 7 is finally available

The long wait is finally over, the public beta of watchOS 7 is finally available.

watchOS 7 joins the public betas of iOS 14, iPadOS 14, and tvOS 14, which have been available since early July, and macOS Big Sur which was made available just last week.

To quickly recap, watchOS 7 introduces a couple of new features to Apple Watch and one of the highlights must be Sleep Tracking.

To complement it, there's also a new Wind Down feature that helps you fall asleep. There's also a new Sleep Mode that mutes your notifications and dims the display.

New in watchOS 7 is also a handwashing detection feature that helps ensure you wash your hands thoroughly.

You can find out more about watchOS 7 is our initial coverage here.

To try watchOS 7, head to the Apple Beta Software Program page to sign up.

Obviously, you should only install watchOS 7 on a secondary Apple Watch and not your primary one in case it's unstable or if it has any bugs.

watchOS 7 will run on Apple Watch Series 3 onwards and when paired with iPhone 6s or later running iOS 14 or later.
