Photography Becomes Colorful with the New Nikon 1 S2

Nikon Malaysia Sdn Bhd yesterday announced the local release of the Nikon 1 S2. Part of Nikon’s range of advanced cameras with interchangeable lenses, the Nikon 1 S2 has a 14.2MP AF CMOS sensor. The image sensor is paired to the company’s EXPEED 4A processor, giving users an ISO range of ISO 200 to ISO 12,800 and similar to a growing number of Nikon cameras today, the Nikon 1 S2 does not have a low-pass filter.

The new Nikon 1 S2 will be available in four colors!

Apart from that, the Nikon 1 S2 offers 135 focus points and has a burst mode of approximately 20 frames per second – by far the fastest among similar products. When in this mode, continuous autofocus is enabled to make it easier to capture fast-moving subjects.

Also announced were a new super-telephoto prime lens and a 1.4x teleconverter. The new super-telephoto lens is the AF-S NIKKOR 400mm f/2.8 FL ED VR, which boasts fluorite lens elements, ED lens elements, and a Nano Crystal Coat for top-notch image performance. In addition, the lens has an electro-magnetic aperture mechanism for better auto exposure stability. Of course, there’s VR technology onboard for better shots. This lens is optimized for Nikon FX cameras. In regards to the 1.4x teleconverter, it is known as the AF-S teleconverter TC-14E III. It sports the same fluorine coat as the lens to offer great image quality.

The massive AF-S NIKKOR 400mm f/2.8 FL ED VR arrives sometime in August.

This 1.4x teleconverter gives users that extra reach.

The Nikon 1 S2 will be available in black, white, red and yellow and will be available around mid-June. As for the AF-S NIKKOR 400mm f/2.8 FL ED VR and AF-S teleconverter TC-14E III, they will make their way here late in August. Pricing details will be made available on Nikon Malaysia’s official website.
