With 4K adoption increasing by the day, many videographers are turning to cameras that can shoot high-quality 4K video. One such camera is the Panasonic LUMIX GH5, which was launched locally a few hours ago.

The LUMIX GH5 comes with a 20.3MP micro four thirds sensor and is currently the only mirrorless camera capable of shooting 4K 60p/50p. Furthermore, unlike many cameras in the market today, there's no limit to how much video you can shoot per clip – the amount is limited to the amount of storage you have and the camera's battery (most cameras shoot up to 30 minutes per clip). It's also capable of shooting at 4:2:2 10-bit 4K for better color tonality and gradation.

Helping you get crisp and sharp photos and videos is the 5-axis Dual Image Stabilizer (I.S.) system, which uses both the in-camera sensor's I.S. system and that of the lens to provide up to 5-stops of stabilization. Dual I.S. will only work when a compatible lens is attached.

Other notable features include the ability to shoot with the V-LogL color grading profile and Hybrid Log Gamma for 4K HDR video, and high-resolution Anamorphic video mode for a truly cinematic look. The Anamorphic look will only be available when an Anamorphic lens is attached, and will be available via a firmware upgrade later this year. It's the same for the Hybrid Log Gamma feature.

As with most professional-grade cameras, the LUMIX GH5 is splash, dust and freezeproof, so you won't have to worry about shooting in the rain or any demanding environments.

The amount of focus points has also been significantly increased, from 49 in the GH4 to 225. There's also no need to worry about speed, as this camera has two burst modes – 4K and 6K PHOTO. In 4K PHOTO, you will be able to shoot up to 60 frames per second, while in 6K PHOTO, you can do so at 30 frames per second with a resolution of approximately 18MP.

Those interested to get their hands on the LUMIX GH5 will be able to do so sometime next month, for RM8,999 (body-only), RM11,999 (with LUMIX G X VARIO 12-35mm f/2.8) or RM12,999 (with LEICA DG VARIO-ELMARIT 12-60mm f/2.8-4.0). If you're interested in something more affordable, you may want to take a look at the LUMIX GF9 instead.
