Nikon Launches New Flagship DSLR and Imaging Software

Nikon fans will be happy to know that the company has officially launched its new flagship camera, the Nikon D4S. Equipped with a 16.2MP FX-format sensor and the EXPEED 4 image processor, this camera guarantees top-notch image quality that's suitable for commercial use.

The D4S has a standard ISO range of 100 to 25,600. It's expanded range however, takes goes down to 50 and up to 409,600. It can shoot at approximately 11 frames per second, while its advanced AF tracking keeps subjects in focus. Speaking of the AF, the D4S is equipped with an Advanced Multi-CAM 3500FX AF sensor that has 51 focus points and a number of AF-area modes. For incredibly fast response, this camera makes use of XQD and Type 1 CF memory cards. There are two slots to allow you to snap even more photos.

In addition to the launch of the D4S, Nikon has also announced its new Capture NX-D software. This application replaces the current Capture NX 2. Among the updates in this software include support for RAW images captured with the latest Nikon DSLR cameras, Nikon 1 cameras and COOLPIX cameras.

The Nikon D4S will make its way to Malaysia sometime in early in March. Unfortunately, local pricing has not been confirmed yet. For detailed information on the D4S, you can click here.
