Microsoft Office 365 Arrives on Google Play at Long Last

Good news, Android users! Microsoft has just announced that from August 28, 2013, Office Mobile is now available for Android phones in Malaysia and 13 other countries in Asia Pacific including Bangladesh, Cambodia, Fiji, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Laos, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Taiwan. This comes as a natural progression, following the release of Office Mobile last November, which comes preinstalled on all Windows Phone 8 devices. In June, the software was also made available for iPhone users.

The official companion to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Office Mobile allow users to work on their documents wherever and whenever, thanks to SkyDrive and SkyDrive Pro support. With support for charts, animations, SmartArt graphics and shapes, the app allows users to edit and make comments on their documents, while still retaining the original formatting and layout for viewing on the PC and Mac.

As it has been designed and optimized for the small screen of the phone, Office Mobile is also more efficient with features like Resume Reading that takes users back to the exact point where they left off on the PC, and the Slide Navigator that makes browsing PowerPoint presentations even faster. Speaker Notes also help users practice their presentations on the run.

Last but not least is the ability to share files directly from the phone. With sharing features built-in, users can easily review comments in Word or Excel documents and add their own, before saving it back to SkyDrive or emailing it as an attachment.

To download Office Mobile for Android phones, users need to have a qualifying Office 365 subscription, including Office 365 Home Premium or Office 365 ProPlus. The app can be found on the Google Play Store.
