Master the Samsung NX1 with Yaman Ibrahim

Yaman Ibrahim highlighted a number of notable features on the Samsung NX1.

After introducing NX1 as its latest premium APS-C smart camera last December, Samsung today hosted a photography workshop, known as the Samsung NX1 Masterclass, to show how this revolutionary camera enables photographers to react and capture fast-moving subject matter.

This fun and informative photo workshop was held at the Bukit Kiara Extreme Park and was conducted by none other than Yaman Ibrahim, a professional portraits photographer who endorsed the Samsung NX1. Designed to showcase the many powerful features of the NX1, the invited media and guests were given the chance to learn from Yaman Ibrahim and get a first-hand experience with the camera.

A lineup of NX1 and accessories that were provided for the NX1 Masterclass workshop.

This workshop was divided into two parts, and the first was on the NX1’s focusing capabilities. Based on basic settings given by Yaman, we were assigned to shoot BMX riders doing their tricks and stunts. Geared with NX AF System III and Wide Phase Detection, this camera was able to take a series of remarkable stunt shots without the need to recompose the shots – the NX1 simply lets us focus and shoot immediately. These are the photos:

We then proceeded to the second part, where we were assigned to shoot a portrait of a BMX rider. Yaman shared a lot of portrait shooting tips based on his experience during this session, especially on composition and the lighting aspects. Also present at the event was Jeffrey Lee, Marketing Leader, Digital Imaging of Samsung Malaysia Electronics.

Jeffrey was present to talk on the technical aspect of the NX1.
