Apple has just released iOS 11.4, which has a couple of important updates.

For most Apple users, one of the most significant updates is that Messages can now be stored in iCloud.

This makes it easy for users to sync their conversations across multiple Apple devices.

Additionally, because messages and attachments are stored on iCloud, it will also save storage space on their devices.

If you are worried about security, Apple encrypts all Messages conversations end-to-end. It is also protected with a key derived directly from the device and not from Apple. Along with the device passcode, this means no one else can access or read this data.

iOS 11.4 also introduces AirPlay 2. AirPlay 2 adds multiroom support so multiple AirPlay 2 speakers can all play the same music around your house.

AirPlay 2 also enables HomePod stereo pairing. This means you can use two HomePod speakers and dedicate one to each channel - left and right.

Finally, iOS 11.4 also includes bug fixes and other general enhancements.

iOS 11.4 is available for download now and will likely be the last major update to iOS 11 since WWDC 2018 is less than a week away.
