HP unveils the world’s smallest All-in-One Inkjet

HP PPS Sales Sdn Bhd today launched HP’s latest innovation in its HP DeskJet Ink Advantage All-in-One (AiO) printer series. Compact and colorful, the new DeskJet Ink Advantage 3700 series are also the world's smallest inkjet printers.

They come in Electric Blue, Sea Grass Green, and Cardinal Red. It also uses an affordable dual-cartridge system (one for color and one for black) at RM35 per cartridge. Each cartridge also comes with its own printhead, ensuring that the printer heads stays fresh and has no clogs.

To save space, HP uses what it calls the HP Scroll Scan. Unlike a flatbed scanner, the HP Scroll Scan is rigid and can only scan whatever that fits within its feeder. This works well for photos, cards, and single pages of paper, but not textbooks or magazines.

In our initial hands-on experience, we saw that the printer’s wireless connectivity and printing capabilities are as expected. Printing photos from a mobile phone is as fast as we could expect from an Inkjet Printer. According to HP’s representatives at the event, the printer can connect to up to five devices, wirelessly, at the same time, or connect to a router and become a network printer.

HP markets the printer as a way for parents to enhance their children’s education, experience, and creativity. At a price tag of the only RM379, perhaps it is not such a far-fetched idea after all.
