HP launches the Spectre 13, ENVY 15, and Folio G1 notebooks in Malaysia

We have to admit, we spent a good amount of time gawking at the HP ENVY 15, Elitebook Folio G1, and Spectre 13 notebooks when they were launched earlier today, simply because they looked so darned gorgeous in the flesh.

The 15.6-inch HP ENVY 15.

The ENVY 15 sports a 15.6-inch Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) display, and is packed with hardware components that include a 2.3GHz Intel Core i5-6200U processor, an integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 1TB HDD. It also has a 3-cell, 52WHr Li-ion prismatic battery that supports HP Fast Charge technology, which is capable of charging the battery to 90 percent within 90 minutes when powered off.

As far as connectivity ports are concerned, the ENVY 15 has one USB 3.1 Type-C port, three USB 3.1 Type-A ports, one HDMI port, and one headphone/microphone combo jack. Naturally, the ENVY 15 also comes with dual Bang & Olufsen speakers as well. Pretty comprehensive specifications, for a notebook that has a weight of just 1.96kg, and an overall thickness of just 17.95mm.

The 12.5-inch business-centric HP Elitebook Folio G1.

Next up, the Elitebook Folio G1, otherwise known as the thinnest and lightest business-class notebook in the world. It has a thickness of just 12.4mm, and a very unassuming weight of just 1kg – which is perfect for all you folks who are regularly working on the move.

Specifications wise, the Elitebook Folio G1 has a 12.5-inch Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) anti-glare display, a 1.2GHz Intel Core m7-6Y75 processor, an Intel HD Graphics 515 integrated GPU, 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM, a 256GB M.2 SATA SSD, and a 4-cell, 38Whr Li-ion polymer battery that can provide up to 10 hours of battery life.

Unlike the ENVY 15, the Elitebook Folio G1 has to make do with just two USB 3.1 Type-C ports, and one headphone/microphone combo jack. But it does somewhat compensate for it with its four integrated Bang & Olufsen speakers.

The super-thin 13.3-inch HP Spectre 13.

And finally, we have the star of the show, the 10.4mm-thin Spectre 13 – the thinnest notebook in the world. Two variants of the Spectre 13 are available in Malaysia: one that’s powered by a 2.3GHz Intel Core i5-6200U processor, and the other that’s running on a 2.5GHz Intel Core i7-6500U processor.

Apart from the difference in processors, both variants will share the same 13.3-inch Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) edge-to-edge display, Intel HD Graphics 520 integrated GPU, 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM, 256GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD, and 4-cell, 38Whr Li-ion Polymer battery.

The same goes for their connectivity ports as well, which include two USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 2 ports, one USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 port, and one headphone/microphone combo jack. Just like the Elitebook Folio G1, the Spectre 13 has quad Bang & Olufsen speakers at its disposal.

Of the three notebooks, only the ENVY 15 will be available starting today, and with a price tag of RM3,699. Both the Elitebook Folio and Spectre 13 will only be available in July, with the former going for RM6,199. The Intel Core i5 variant of the Spectre 13 will be retailing for RM5,999, while the Intel Core i7 variant will be yours for RM6,900.
