Epson Malaysia launches two enterprise-class inkjet printers

From L-R: Daisuke Hori, Managing Director, Epson Malaysia; and Danny Lee, General Manager, Sales & Marketing, Epson Malaysia, together with the Epson WorkForce Enterprise WF-C20590 business inkjet printer.

Epson Malaysia isn’t just targeting SOHOs and SMEs with its new lineup of L-series inkjet printers – they are also setting its sights on large-scale businesses and enterprises with its WorkForce Enterprise WF-C20590 and WorkForce Pro WF-C869R inkjet printers.

Yes, inkjet printers aren’t usually associated with business organizations, but Epson strongly believes that will be able to change that mindset with the WF-C20590. Think inkjet printers are slow compared to their laser counterparts? You might want to think again, because the WF-C20590 features a very impressive print speed of 100 ppm – in both simplex and duplex, no less.

But being fast is one thing – the WF-C20590 also offers solid print quality as well, courtesy of its PrecisionCore linehead, which is 43mm wide, and contains a staggering 34,704 individual nozzles (8,676 nozzles for each color). With a maximum print resolution of 600 x 2,400 dpi, you can rest assured that text and images will appear crisp and tack sharp.

The WF-C20590 is also cost-effective, too. Its ultra-high capacity ink cartridges have a 100,000 black page yield, and a 50,000 page yield for each of its three colors: cyan, magenta, yellow. Of course, the high page yield also means that you’ll have to spend less time waiting for someone from the IT department to replace its ink cartridges when it runs dry.

Speaking of ink, the DURAbrite Pro inks that the WF-C20590 uses are fast-drying, fade-resistant, and water-resistant, so you don’t have to worry about leaving unsightly smudges on your multi-million Ringgit business proposal.

In the event that your organization doesn’t need such blazing fast print speeds and high page yields, perhaps the WorkeForce Pro WF-C869R would be a more suitable fit, since its large Replaceable Ink Pack is able to deliver up to 86,000 pages in black, and 84,000 pages in color before needing to be replaced. Still a little too much? You can always opt for the ‘standard’ ink packs instead, which are good for providing up to 22,500 pages in black, and 22,000 color pages.

It should go without saying that the WF-C869R uses Epson’s PrecisionCore technology as well, and has a print speed of 35 ppm for both black and color prints. Yes, it isn’t as quick as the WF-C20590, but it makes up for it by being able to create high-resolution, 4,800 x 1,200 dpi prints for special media.

In terms of pricing, the base model of the WF-C869R will be going for RM12,500. The price of the WF-C20590, on the other hand, isn’t fixed, as Epson says its configuration can be customized to cater to the print volume of an organization, amongst other things.
