Drone enthusiasts will be glad to know that DJI has got two new drones: the Inspire 2 and the Phantom 4 Pro.

When you thought the DJI Inspire 1 was plenty brilliant, DJI went ahead and improved on it. It now comes with a magnesium allow body which makes it tougher and lighter at the same time. There’s also a front-facing camera for easier navigation, while the main gimbal now supports the new Zenmuse X4S and X5S cameras, with more to be added in the future.

On the inside, the Inspire 2 now sports a new image processing system called CineCore 2.0. This allows the Inspire 2 to record 5.2K video at 4.2 Gbps for Adobe CinemaDng Raw videos, as well as other formats, including Apple ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes 4444 XQ, H.264 and H.265.

The DJI Phantom 4 Pro improves on the Intelligent flight of the Phantom 4. It now has three cameras – in front, behind, and below the drone, as well as infrared sensors on both sides. This allows the Phantom 4 Pro to avoid obstacles with a sensing range of 98 feet (approx. 30m). It can also continue doing so for 30 minutes.

As for its imaging capability, there’s a 20MP sensor that allows it to take slow-motion 4K video up to 60fps at 100 Mbps. The Phantom 4 Pro also offers the H.265 compression at the same bitrate.

The DJI Inspire 2 is priced at US$2,999 (approx. RM13,033). It is also available in the Inspire 2 Combo, which comes with the Inspire 2 craft, one Zenmuse X5s, CinemaDNG and Apple ProRes License Key for US$6,198 (approx. RM26,936). The DJI Phantom 4 Pro, on the other hand, costs US$1,499 (approx. RM6,514). If you’d like an extra high luminance display remote controller, then the price will be US$1,799 (approx. RM7,818). Both the DJI Inspire 2 and the DJI Phantom 4 Pro are now available for pre-order.
