Dell has just updated its popular XPS 13 notebook ahead of CES 2020. This isn't just a spec update either. The new XPS 13 for 2020 features several significant improvements worth talking about.

First, the display is slightly larger and now boasts a 16:10 aspect ratio. Size is now up slightly to 13.4 inches and you can have it with either Full-HD+ (1,920 x 1,200 pixels) or 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,400 pixels).

The size of the bezels have also been reduced. The bottom bezel, in particular, looks like its completely removed. This, according to Dell, gives the new XPS 13 a screen-to-body ratio of 91.5%.

The XPS 13 also gets improved keyboard and touchpad. The keyboard and touchpad now stretches across the entire notebook, allowing Dell to fit larger keycaps and a larger touchpad. Many complained about the tiny trackpad of last year's model.

Naturally, the XPS 13 is powered by Intel's newest 10th generation Ice Lake processors. There will be Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 options. The XPS 13 can also be outfitted with up to 32GB of RAM and up to 2TB of SSD storage.

As for ports, you are looking at two USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports, a microSD card reader, and a 3.5mm audio combo jack.

The new XPS 13 will also support the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard too, so you can get Gigabit wireless speeds if you have the right Wi-Fi 6 router.

It goes without saying that the XPS 13 will remain super portable. This new model is 2% smaller than its predecessor. It's just 14.8mm thick and weighs 1.27kg.

Dell says battery life on the models with the Full-HD+ displays will be around 19 hours. Battery capacity is 52Wh.

No word yet on local pricing and availability yet but prices will start at US$999.99 in the US which is US$100 more than its predecessor.
