Cooler Master recently announced its MasterBox Lite 5, a mid-tower case with plenty of room for high-end components. It will cost just S$79 (approx. RM337), making it a good fit for system builders looking for an affordable case with good looks and a spacious interior.

The front panel features a distinctive design that Cooler Master calls DarkMirror – it appears somewhat like an opaque facade when the PC is off, but it allows the front intake fans to shine through when the PC is on.

However, the MasterBox Lite 5 won’t come with any front fans pre-installed (only a single 120mm exhaust fan is included), so you’ll have to install your own. The DarkMirror front panel works best with LED-illuminated fans, and you can opt for either three 120mm spinners or two 140mm ones.

The case is available in three different trim colors, and you can choose between red, black, or white. All three colors ship with the chassis, and you can simply pop off one color and snap on the next as you see fit.

To make it even more customizable, Cooler Master has released 3D printing schematics of both the top and bottom trim, so you can further personalize the case.

In addition, there is an edge-to-edge acrylic side panel that will allow you to show off the internals in their full glory. There’s no tempered glass here, which is unsurprising given how much the case costs.

Fortunately, there’s a PSU shroud included here, so you can hide the tangle of wires coming out of the PSU. There is also up to 35mm of cable routing space at the back of the motherboard tray, which is a good amount of room to work with.

Storage support is slightly limited, and you can install up to three SSDs, or one SSD and two HDDs. That said, the case is capable of taking huge graphics cards up to 400mm long and CPU coolers up to 160mm tall.

The MasterBox Lite 5 was on display at COMPUTEX 2017, where Cooler Master also launched the Cosmos C700P, the HAF-inspired MasterCase H500P, and the MasterBox Q300T
