CES 2017: The Acer Predator 17 X is now more fearsome than ever before

If you felt a little disappointed upon knowing that the Acer Predator 17 X – which was launched in Malaysia back in August last year – wasn’t going to be equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-series graphics card, we bring you good news.

Acer has recently announced that it will be updating the Predator 17 X with a GeForce GTX 1080, and a 7th generation Intel Core i7-7820HK processor for good measure. As such, running your favorite games on its 17.3-inch G-SYNC UHD (3,840 x 2,160) IPS display shouldn’t be much of an issue. If you want to play it safe, you can always opt for a Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) IPS panel instead.

The Predator 17 X can also be equipped with up to 64GB of DDR4-2400 RAM, as well as an enterprise level NVMe PCIe solid state drive. If insane transfer speeds are what you need, you can choose to have a three-SATA-SSD RAID 0 array fitted instead.

The Predator 17 X will be available in North America later this month with prices starting from US$2,599 (~RM11,661).

Oh, remember the monstrous Acer Predator 21 X that was unveiled back at IFA 2016 in Berlin? Acer has finally announced that it will be available for purchase in the U.S. this February with prices starting from a cool US$8,999 (~RM40,396).
