Canon's new PowerShot G1 X Mark III comes armed with the DIGIC 7 processor

Canon Marketing Malaysia has just announced the PowerShot G1 X Mark III, which comes armed with innards that you’d think belong in its EOS line instead.

To start, it comes with an APS-C CMOS sensor with Dual Pixel CMOS AF, and the DIGIC 7 image processor. While shooting, you’ll be using the 24-72mm f/2.8 – f/5.6 lens with image stabilization and 3x optical zoom and the high-resolution EVF with 2.36 million dots. For video enthusiasts, the PowerShot G1 X Mark III shoots in Full HD at 60p.

The compact body weights in at 399g, and is dust and drip- proof, which makes for a fuss-free camera even in dusty and moist environments. There’s also a 3-inch vari-angle LCD touchscreen display also for more shooting options. If you’d like to have your shots shared on social media immediately after you’ve taken them, then there’s Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity with NFC for that as well.

The Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III is now available at RM4,799. For those who would like to keep a record of their underwater adventures, the optional underwater casing WP-DC56 is available separately for RM1,599.
