Canon's new PIXMA, imageCLASS, and CanoScan series are set to impress

Canon Marketing Malaysia today launched a number of new printers and scanners. Equipped with the latest technology, such as NFC support and wireless printing, these solutions are designed to meet the demands of SOHO users, as well as home users.

(From L-R) Samantha Goh, Area Marketing Executive, Canon Singapore, Regional, CSP, Wataru Nishioka, President & CEO, Canon Marketing Malaysia, and Jeffrey Kung, Assistant Director, CSP, showing a picture that they wirelessly printed just seconds earlier, as part of the launch gambit.

The hero product for this launch was Canon's latest flagship printer, the PIXMA MG7570. This All-in-One (AIO) photo printer has NFC functionality onboard, which allows you to easily scan and print, using your NFC-enabled devices.

Currently, this touch and print feature is only supported on Android devices, though iOS users can still use mobile printing and scanning, with the use of the PIXMA printing app. Other features include a print resolution of 9,600 x 2,400 dpi and a print speed of up to 10 pages per minute. The MG7570 comes in orange, white, and black.

The Canon PIXMA MG7570 is Canon's new flagship inkjet printer.

Apart from that, we were also shown the PIXMA E460, another AIO. Unlike the flagship MG7570, this printer is targeted at students and home users. This printer is marketed as a highly efficient printer, thanks to its ability to print up to 400 black and white pages. Its replacement black ink cartridge only costs RM25. It also supports wireless printing, making it a great option for the average user.

You'll be spoiled for choice with Canon's new line of printers and scanners.

Taking wireless printing a step further, the PIXMA MG2970 is able to accept print commands via the cloud. It does this by supporting the PIXMA Cloud Link and the Google Cloud Print engine.

Last but not least, the PIXMA iP110 is a mobile printer that's slim and compact. It has integrated wireless connectivity, which allows you to print, while outside of the office. This is possible thanks to an optional rechargeable battery kit.

For businesses, there were a number of monochrome single function printers as well. These include the imageCLASS LBP6030, LBP6030w and LBP6230dn. With print speeds of up to 18 pages per minute and wireless printing, these printers are perfect for any office.

Last but not least, Canon launched the CanoScan LiDE 220 and LiDE 120 scanners. What's great about these scanners is that they have a 'Send' button, which allows them to easily upload scanned documents or photos to cloud storage sites, such as Evernote and Dropbox.

The PIXMA MG7570; E460; iP110; and MG2970 are available now and are priced at RM618; RM279; RM1,068; and RM238 respectively. Those interested in purchasing the iP110 with the optional battery can bundle them together, for a price of RM1,218.

As for the Canon scanners, the LiDE 220 is priced at RM568, while the LiDE 120 is priced at RM348.
