Canon PhotoMarathon 2011 Offers Trips and RM10,000 Cash Prize

For the 9th consecutive year running, Canon brings back its PhotoMarathon 2011 to seven countries including Malaysia.

This year, the gathering point for this full day competition will be on 15 October 2011 at the Pavilion entrance in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, with the grand prize of an all-expense-paid 8-day photo clinic to Tasmania, Australia hosted by acclaimed photographer Triston Yeo plus RM 10,000 cash prize to be won.

The competition will be based around three themes that will be revealed at specific times of the day. Participants will have to pit their creativity, skill and endurance level to create photographic masterpieces for each theme.

The judges for this competition are as follows:

  • Zainal Abdul Halim: One of Reuter's photojournalist
  • Peter Tan: Certified Master Photographer by the Master Photographers Association (UK)
  • Din Arshad: 30 years of experience in the photography industry
  • Harry Woo: Recognized locally and internationally with a list of awards under his belt
  • Ng Kok Leong: Current Photo Editor of The Star Publications
  • Raj Kumar: Photo Editor of the Sun Media Publication Group
  • Syed Agil Syed Jaafar: Chief Photographer of the Utusan Group

Participants that are pre-registered will only have to pay RM 20 whereas walk-in participants will be charged RM 25.

Canon Marketing Malaysia also announces that all proceeds from registrations will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in support of their research and awareness programs.
