Canon launches new printer line for SOHO

From L - R: Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Assistant Director of CSP Jeffrey Kung and Canon Marketing (Malaysia) President; and CEO, Wataru Nishioka introducing the MAXIFY MB5370, MB5070, and MB iB4070.

Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd earlier today unveiled their latest line of printers to compliment their well known PIXMA and imageCLASS brands. The introduction came in the form of three new printers.

“MAXIFY is Canon’s latest sub-brand. The launch of MAXIFY is a strategic decision by Canon inc to grow its market share in the printer business globally. As many in the industry know, Canon’s PIXMA and imageCLASS brands have been the basis of creativity and innovation in the printer market for many years,” said Canon Marketing (Malaysia) President and CEO, Wataru Nishioka.

The three printers introduced were the multi-function MAXIFY MB5370, MAXIFY MB5070 and the single function MAXIFY iB4070.

All of the printers features low print costs, quick prints, and MAXIFY Cloud Link. However the most exciting feature of the printer in this series is the Dual Resistant High Density Ink (DRDHI) that is both water and marker resistant. This is also Canon’s first printer line that uses this feature.

“MAXIFY allows SOHO and home offices to benefit from low cost per print up to 50% with an XL capacity black ink capable of printing up to 2,500 pages, Quick First Print in just 7 seconds, and the MAXIFY Cloud Link. These models also comes with a 3-year on-site warranty through our 9 offices ad 106 authorized service provider nationwide,” said Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Assistant Director of CSP Jeffrey Kung.

He added that MAXIFY, with its price point and features will be an attractive alternative to laser printers. When asked regarding the DRDHI technology being adopted by other Canon’s printer sub-brands, Kung said that those who are looking to print high quality photo printing chooses PIXMA printers and print on special photo paper that makes their prints water resistant anyway.

The multifunction MAXIFY MB5370 and MB5070 is available now for RM1,108 and RM908 respectively while the iB4070 will be available for RM518. Note that these prices do not include the impending GST.
