Canon Launches Eight PIXMA Inkjet Printers

Canon Marketing Malaysia unveiled eight new PIXMA inkjet printers today. This was the first printer launch for them this year. The printers that were announced are the PIXMA E400, E560, iP2870, iP8770, iX6770, iX6870, MX477, and MX573.

The PIXMA E400 and the E560 are the latest entries in Canon’s PIXMA Ink Efficient line. These multifunction printers are designed to be reliable and affordable. The printers feature highly affordable ink cartridges at RM25 for a single black cartridge. The E560 also features Wi-Fi connectivity and is Google Cloud Print ready.

For the office environments, Canon offers the PIXMA MX477 and the PIXMA MX537 Office All-in-One printers. A combination of a printer, scanner and fax machine, both models have Wi-Fi connectivity, is compatible with cloud printing, and uses dual cartridges (color and black) that come in regular and large capacity sizes. The MX537 also features a 30-sheet Auto Document Feeder and Auto Duplex Print.

Canon also launched three printers aimed squarely at quality printing. The affordable PIXMA iP2870 is a single function printer that Canon says is perfect for the student or for a home. It is designed for easy operation, and uses dual cartridges that come in an optional large capacity.

Offices looking for a single function printer that could produce high-quality prints on paper up to A3 in size should look at the PIXMA iX6870 and the Wi-Fi enabled PIXMA iX6770. Both printers could be networked via Ethernet and uses five individual ink cartridges, with its largest capable of printing up to 800 pages.

The PIXMA iP8770 uses six ink cartridges, including a gray ink cartridge, for the best photo print quality.

The PIXMA iP8770 boasts the best printing quality of the whole lineup. Capable of printing photos up to A3 in size, this printer uses six ink cartridges, including a gray cartridge, that improve the printer’s monochrome prints and color photo prints significantly. Also Wi-Fi enabled, this printer is compatible with AirPrint, Wireless PictBridge, and Google Cloud Print.
