Canon EOS 6D Mark II, EOS 200D to be available in early August

This August, Canon will be expanding its EOS camera lineup with the release of the full-frame EOS 6D Mark II and entry-level EOS 200D DSLR cameras. These models serve as ideal entry points for enthusiasts and beginners respectively, while providing them with enhanced connectivity options.

“Given the importance of full-frame sensors to professional photographers, the EOS 6D Mark II is the most accessible camera to make the jump to full-frame photography. Cameras may be seen as another imaging tool but nowadays it is also a fashion accessory, which is how the trendy EOS 200D comes into play,” said Jeffrey Kung, Head of Consumer Imaging & Information Division, Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.

Ideal for enthusiasts looking to own their first full-frame camera, the EOS 6D Mark II comes with a 23.2MP full-Frame CMOS sensor and an ISO range of 100 to 40,000. It's also capable of 6.5fps high-speed continuous shooting, which complements its viewfinder’s 45-point all cross-type autofocus (AF) system. These features combined allow you to capture shots quickly and accurately, even in dark conditions.

The EOS 200D, on the flip side, is a user-friendly DSLR ideal for budding photographers. Within its ergonomic design, it sports a DIGIC 7 image processor, a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor and a standard ISO range of 100 to 25,600. Despite its size, the EOS 200D is has a quick AF of 0.03 seconds, and can capture subjects at 3.5fps continuous shooting speed; this allows you to capture the moment with reduced motion blur in low-light conditions. There is even a Selfie mode that automatically beautifies your pictures, enabling sharp, crisper photos than regular smartphones.

Those interested in the EOS 200D can purchase both the body and a EF 18-55 IS STM lens for RM2,999. Body color options include black, white, and silver.

Both the EOS 6D Mark II and EOS 200D also supports enhanced connectivity options for avid social media users. With NFC and Wi-Fi support, users can easily transfer photos and videos to their smart device and share them on their social media platform of choice. In addition, Bluetooth allows users to remotely view photos from their smart device, and even allow for remote capture when using the Canon Camera Connect app.
