ASUS revealed the RT-AC86U, a gaming-centric AC2900-class Wi-Fi router that promises to improve your internet connection wherever you are in the home.

Designed to prioritize gaming traffic first, the RT-AC86U uses Adaptive QoS to ensure online games are at head of the network queue. In addition, the WTFast game accelerator help reduce ping time by optimizing your connection to game servers.

Packing in a 1.8GHz dual-core processor as well as NitroQAM-boosted dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi, the RT-AC86U is capable of delivering bandwidths of up to 750Mb/s on 2.4GHz band and 2,166Mb/s on 5GHz band, respectively.

To ensure your entire home is covered, the router also incorporates high-performance antennas with RangeBoost technology to eliminate dead spots. With AiRadar 2.0 technology, these signals are focused towards each connected device to improve stability and speed.

For added peace of mind, the RT-AC86U supports AiProtection, a security system powered by Trend Micro Smart Home Network. This allows all connected devices to be protected even if they have no antivirus of their own installed, such as Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

The RT-AC86U will available from November 3 onwards for RM1,569.
