ASUS launches its new Ryzen-ready ROG Strix motherboards

When AMD’s Ryzen CPU made its debut earlier in the year, the CPU and GPU maker signaled its return into the high-end CPU market. To that end, its AiB partners also released new AM4 motherboards that would support the new Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 CPUs. In ASUS' case, the company released only one motherboard, the Crosshair VI Hero, which we reviewed several months earlier. Beyond that, ASUS had remained quiet about other AM4 motherboards, at least until now.

Earlier today, ASUS announced the availability of its ROG Strix X370-F Gaming and B350-F Gaming motherboards, its two latest ROG Strix ATX motherboards catered to the new AM4 chipset.

The X370-F Gaming is designed to be paired with the Ryzen 7 CPU lineup, including the Ryzen 7 1800X, Ryzen 7 1700X, and Ryzen 7 1700. Much like all high-end and enthusiast-level motherboards, the X370F-Gaming’s specifications include support for the following:

  • Up to 64GB DDR4 RAM 3,200 (OC) / 2,666 / 2,400 / 2,133MHz
  • 2x PCIe 3.0 x16
  • Multi-GPU support (2-way SLI / CrossFire X)

  • 4x USB 2.0 ports (2 ports at back panel, 2 ports at mid-board)
  • Form: ATX

The B350-F Gaming is an AM4 ROG Strix motherboard designed for the Ryzen 5 CPU lineup, but more specifically, it is a motherboard that caters to the midrange PC builder and gamer. Its specifications summary is as listed below:

  • Up to 64GB DDR4 RAM 3,200 (OC) / 2,666 / 2,400 / 2,133MHz
  • 2x PCIe 3.0 x16
