Asashi Kasei Debuts RFID Amulet for Medical Data

Wearing a hospital tag with medical details may very well be a thing of the past thanks to Asashi Kasei’s new RFID Amulet device which is capable of storing medical data such as blood type and even X-ray images.

By relying on established technology called FeliCa from Sony, these news amulets can be easily read by a computer or even a smartphone.

Engadget - Using RFID to store medical records, ultimately making the jobs of paramedics and doctors that much easier, is hardly a new concept. But, for the most part, such devices have been limited to clinical trials.
