Regulatory filings with the Brazil National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL) have revealed the battery capacities of the new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini.

According to these filings, the iPhone 12 will have a 2,815mAh battery. That is about 9% less than the iPhone 11, which has a 3,110mAh battery. This is not entirely surprising given that the iPhone 12 is nearly a whole millimetre thinner than the iPhone 11.

What's more surprising is that the iPhone 12 Mini has a 2,227mAh battery. This is interesting because this means it has a 22% larger battery than the iPhone SE (1,821mAh), which is oh-so-slightly larger than the iPhone 12 Mini.

These numbers don't sound impressive especially considering most Android phones now have batteries that are in the 4,000mAh to 5,000mAh – even if they have larger displays and bodies.

We'll just to wait for reviews to see how this affects the new phones' battery lives.
