According to The Wall Street Journal, Cupertino-based tech giant Apple recently bought an Israeli camera technology firm called LinX for an estimated US$20 million to improve its camera technology.

LinX specialized in making miniature multi-aperture cameras for mobile devices. Its camera technology is accompanied by systems of sensors that detect various depths of field in a single photo and capture photos of all these depth, then uses an algorithm to stitch them all together into one 3D image. Plus, the company claimed that its camera technology is able to create stunning photo in low-light condition.

We believe this acquisition should alleviate iPhone users who complained about the protruding camera lens in the recent iPhone 6 lineup.
