We've heard Apple CEO Tim Cook raving about high numbers of Android switchers in several earnings reports and market intelligence firm CIRP shares its latest statistics on the trend.

According to data collected from a survey of 2,000 U.S Apple customers who bought an Apple device in the 12 months ending March 2018, Android switchers make up about 15% to 20% of iPhone sales every quarter with two prominent patterns. The market intelligence firm states that Android switchers tend to purchase the more affordable iPhone models and favor iPhone models with larger displays.

CIRP - The former Android users gravitate to the lowest-priced iPhone models, which makes sense to us, with Android phones offering a wide range of models, many at relatively low-price points. And since everything on an iPhone is new to them, there is less value in purchasing the latest flagship model with the most advanced features.

CIRP claims that almost 40% of Android switchers chose the iPhone Plus models compared to just under 30% for iPhone upgraders.
