Acer launches the Predator G1 gaming desktop and Predator 17 X gaming notebook
The Acer Predator G1 gaming desktop and Predator 17 X gaming notebook has finally arrived in Malaysia, a short four months after they made their appearance at the next@acer global press conference in New York.
Don’t be fooled by its relatively compact size – the Predator G1 is equipped with impressive components such as a 3.4GHz Intel Core i7-6700 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a 128GB M.2 SSD, and a 2TB hard drive. Suffice to say, 4K gaming shouldn’t be a problem for the Predator G1.
Of course, it goes without saying that the Predator G1 comes loaded with plenty of other interesting features as well, including Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi MB5 audio, a chassis with RGB lighting zones that can pulse to the beat of your music (which Acer is calling ‘Growl Lights’), two headphone cradles, and Killer DoubleShot Pro networking technology.
As far as connectivity ports are concerned, the Predator G1 has an SD card reader, two audio jacks, one USB 3.0 port, and one USB 3.1 port on its front. You’ll find an Ethernet port, six audio jacks, and four USB 3.0 ports on its back.
Naturally, all these wonderful features and hardware of the Predator G1 will to cost you a pretty penny – RM10,999. If it’s any consolation, it does come bundled together with the Predator mechanical backlit keyboard, a Predator gaming mouse, and a G1 Desktop Transport Suitcase.
On the other hand, if you’re always out on the move, and require a gaming notebook that’s powerful enough to keep you occupied with your favorite games during your downtime, you can always opt for the Predator 17 X instead. It sports a 17.3-inch Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) NVIDIA G-SYNC display, an overclockable 2.7GHz Intel Core I7-6820HK processor, a desktop-class NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 graphics card, a whopping 32GB of DDR4 RAM, a 256GB PCIe Gen3 x4 SSD, and a 1TB hard drive.
Much like its desktop counterpart, the Predator 17 X is also furnished with a number of interesting features, including an RGB backlit keyboard with dedicated macro keys, Killer DoubleShot Pro networking, and Predator SoundPound audio, which comprises of four integrated speakers, two subwoofers, and Dolby Audio surround sound technology.
Connectivity wise, the Predator 17 X has a USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3 port, four USB 3.0 ports, a HDMI port, a DisplayPort, an Ethernet port, a SD card reader, and an audio combo jack.
