Ridley Scott Associates (RSA), the film production studio of renowned director Ridley Scott, earlier this week announced RSA VR, the company’s new division dedicated to the production of high-end immersive VR, AR, and mixed reality films.

This formal announcement comes in the middle of the company’s involvement in VR over the past several years, most recently with the production of The Martin VR Experience (2016) and the upcoming Alien: Covenant. Other ongoing projects include a 360 film campaign for Siemens, an episodic VR series called Blackbox, and other unannounced documentary series. Aside from in-house films, the studio stressed that this dedicated standalone team serves to offer their resources to clients that might wish to take advantage of VR and the top-notch creative directing that the studio provides.

The company’s most recent VR film release, Alien: Covenant In Utero is the official VR teaser to Scott’s upcoming cinema release of Alien: Covenant due next month. The VR teaser was released earlier this week on the Oculus platform.
