DJI's new mini-drone, Spark, is finally available for purchase in Malaysia, thanks to the company's local distributor, ECS AStar Sdn. Bhd.
The drone, which is not bigger than a can of soda, first came to light back in May.
The DJI Spark is also exceedingly light, weighing in at a mere 300 grams.
The Spark's battery gives the drone approximately 16 minutes of flight time on a full charge, and can be recharged via its provided docking station, or through a standard micro USB port that's built into the back of the drone.
You can control the Spark via three options: motion control (i.e. using your hands to gesture at it), connecting it to your smartphone via Wi-Fi, or through its special controller (which isn't coming to Malaysia just yet). You should also know that the control radius of the Spark is limited to only 100m if you control the drone with your smartphone. The special controller does have a wider control radius of 2km, but that is limited to 500m in Malaysia due to EC compliancy.
The DJI Spark is fitted with a 12MP 1/ 2.3-inch CMOS sensor and a 2-axis mechanical gimbal with UltraSmooth technology that reduces shake and rolling shutter effect.
