Patriot Moves into Mobile Space at COMPUTEX 2013

Patriot Memory is generally known for its quality memory modules and flash memory products, which is why we were pleasantly surprised to find several new products that are not from the aforementioned categories.

The Patriot AERO wireless mobile drive is available in 500GB and 1TB capacities. There is also the enclosure-only Gauntlet Node model that users can customize with their own HDD or SSD.

The first of these products is the the Patriot AERO wireless mobile drive. Like its name implies, the AERO serves as a Wi-Fi access point that can serve up to five mobile devices for photo, music and video streaming. Users will need to first download the free Patriot Connect app, which is available on Amazon App Store (for Kindle Fire devices), Apple App Store and Google Play.

There's also a USB 3.0 port for direct connection, while the built-in Li-ion battery is said to offer up to six hours of wireless streaming on a full charge.

In addition to 720p video streaming, the AERO also allows content transfer from your iOS and Android app to the device's hard drive.

Next we have Fuel+, which is Patriot's answer to portable battery chargers. A total of three Fuel+ mobile rechargeable batteries were showcased. Fuel+ 1500mAh is the smallest of the series, and is designed to complement the iPhone 5. The petite, square-shaped 1,500mAh charger incorporates a built-in Lightning connector that is slightly elevated to accommodate most iPhone 5 cases.

The Fuel+ 1500mAh is an Apple MFI-certified mobile battery.

The entire Fuel+ product lineup are engineered to laptop battery brand standards, with safeguards in place against under-charge, over-charge, and short-circuit. Available in 2200mAh and 3000mAh capacities, the second Fuel+ mobile charger offers 1A of power for charging your ultraportable devices. As for power-hungry users, the third variant of the Fuel+ charger features two USB ports (1A and 2.5A) and a choice of 5200mAh, 6000mAh, 7800mAh and 9000mAh.

Patriot's Fuel+ mobile battery series are also available in two additional form factors, with the thinner variant offering 2200mAh and 3000mAh capacities. The larger variant is available in 5200mAh, 6000mAh, 7800mAh and 9000mAh capacities.

Shown here are Patriot's high-performance Viper 3 Series memory kits. These XMP-ready DRAMs are currently available in speeds of 1600MHz, 1886MHz, and 2133MHz. The 2667MHz variant will be launched in late Q3 2013.

The Signature line includes DDR3 1600MHz memory kits in both SO-DIMM and DIMM configurations.

Patriot also showcased a number of USB flash drives from its SuperSonic series. <br>From L-R: SuperSonic Magnum, SuperSonic Xpress, SuperSonic Pulse, and the SuperSonic s.mini
