WD My Passport for Mac Gets USB 3.0 Upgrade

Mac users who simply love toting all their data around will be glad to know that WD has just announced that it has upgraded its popular My Passport for Mac drive with a USB 3.0 interface and will now offer up to 2TB of storage capacity.

The new My Passport for Mac upholds its sleek and slim design and includes password protection and hardware encryption features. In addition to this, the drive will also be compatible with Apple Time Machine, making it easy for users to backup their files.

“Today's mobile consumers are looking for fast, safe, compact and reliable ways to access and transport their digital files,” explained Craig Davis, Director, Sales & Marketing, Branded Product Group, Western Digital Asia Pacific Region. “My Passport for Mac with USB 3.0 adds the convenience of a very fast USB connection that includes added security features that mobile consumers need when away from home."

My Passport for Mac comes with a 3-year limited warranty and will be sold at Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP) of RM239 for the 500GB, RM329 for the 1TB and RM599 for the 2TB variant.
