UberMANDARIN now available for Mandarin-speaking Uber drivers
As more and more tourists from China visit our country (with three million tourists this year alone), Uber Malaysia is introducing UberMANDARIN, an exclusive feature for passengers who want to ride with a Mandarin-speaking UberX driver. At current, the feature is available to riders located in Johor Bahru, Penang and Kota Kinabalu.
Users would have to launch the Uber mobile app and select the UberMANDARIN option, next to UberX and simply request a ride. Users will then be paired with the closest Mandarin-speaking driver once the ride has been accepted. In the event that there are no Mandarin speakers, riders can still hail a regular UberX.
The Ministry of Tourism and Culture predicts that four million Chinese tourists will visit Malaysia next year, and that the number of tourists will rise to eight million in 2020. By launching UberMANDARIN, Uber Malaysia is promoting the Government's tourism initiatives.
