U Mobile begins taking pre-orders for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus

U Mobile has begun taking pre-orders for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus through its website.

You should be familiar with the mechanics by now: if you want to bring home either of the iPhones at a slightly more affordable price, you’re going to have to commit to a slightly more expensive postpaid plan.

Let’s say, for example, you’re interested in the 64GB iPhone 8. Purchase it together with the i90 Postpaid plan (RM90 a month), and the device is yours for RM2,500. Opt for the more expensive i130 Postpaid plan (RM130 a month), and you’ll bring home the device for RM2,140 instead.

Is the 64GB iPhone 8 Plus more your cup of tea? With the i90 Postpaid plan, you can bring one home for RM2,935. You can give your bank account a breather by lowering its price down to RM2,575 with the i130 Postpaid plan.

You should also keep in mind that both the i90 and i130 Postpaid plans require an upfront payment of RM600 and RM960, respectively, which will be rebated to you through your monthly statement over the period of 24 months.

For the uninitiated, the i90 Postpaid plan comes with 7GB of mobile data, unlimited calls to all networks, 45 free SMS’ to all networks (subsequently RM0.03 per SMS to U Mobile numbers, and RM0.08 to all other networks), 7GB of data for Video-Onz video streaming, 5GB of Roam-Onz roaming data, as well as unlimited data for Waze, Music-Onz, and App-Onz applications.

The i130 Postpaid plan, meanwhile, comes with 10GB of mobile data, unlimited calls to all networks, 65 free SMS’ to all networks (subsequently RM0.03 per SMS to U Mobile numbers, and RM0.08 to all other networks), 8GB of Roam-Onz roaming data, as well as unlimited data for Waze, Video-Onz, Music-Onz, and App-Onz applications.
