ThinkGeek Collaborates with The Wand Company to Unveil World's First Sonic Screwdriver

ThinkGeek, along with The Wand Company and BBC Worldwide, have collaborated to unveil the Sonic Screwdriver Universal Remote Control.

A gesture-based remote, it is a metal replica of the Mark VII Sonic Screwdriver currently used by the Eleventh Doctor, Matt Smith. Capable of manipulating almost all home entertainment systems (from TVs to iPod docks) via IR (Infrared) technology, the Sonic Screwdriver Universal Remote Control works using a series of 13 short gestures, including rotating, flicking, and tapping.

The Sonic Screwdriver Universal Remote Control will be showcased at the BBC America Booth #3629 during the San Diego Comic-Con on 12 July. Also, ThinkGeek.com will begin collecting interest at the same time with sales launching on 31 August.
