Tag Anyone in Instagram with Photos of You
Instagram has just launched its new photo tagging feature, which allows users to tag any person or brand in their own photos. These photos will then notify them and automatically show up in the 'Photos of You' section of their profile. Users can also set to have a photo require their approval before it goes live, de-tag themselves from the photo or even report it if it's offensive.
The feature is only available for the latest version 3.5 of Instagram on iOS and Android, so users will have to update the app before they can check out their Photos of You section. Photos of You doesn't officially go live until May 16, however, so users still have the time to choose whether they prefer to be openly tagged by any Instagram user, or pick and choose what appears on their profile.
With over 100 million users, Photos of You is set to bring the same viral reengagement technique that helped Facebook grow quickly in its early days. Whether you're just another user or a brand, business or public figure, Instagram is allowing users to tag anyone, not just their friends or people they follow. While users won't be able to add tags to anyone's photos, save for their own, this new feature will definitely take Instagram to new heights, making it more than just a photo feed of artsy fartsy shots.
