Samsung’s QuickDrive washing machine promises to cut your laundry time in half
Samsung’s Quickdrive washing machine promises to cut your laundry time in half. The WW7800M washing machine with QuickDrive was first announced late last year. It will now be coming to Singapore in the first quarter of 2018.
Samsung says QuickDrive technology cuts washing time by 50% and energy use by 20%. And all without sacrificing cleaning performance. The unique drum design consists of a main drum, with a back plate that rotates independently. Samsung calls this the ‘Q-Drum.’
Conventional washers tumbles clothes from top to bottom. The Q-Drum moves clothes from top to bottom, but the back plate introduces a back and forth movement. This creates a more dynamic wash that is quicker to remove dirt.
Intertek’s independent tests lend some weight to Samsung’s claims. The tests show that QuickDrive provided the same level of cleaning performance and fabric care as existing washers. This even with the shorter washing times and more dynamic Q-Drum action.
The WW7800M also comes with Samsung’s neat AddWash feature. AddWash lets you add items at any time during the wash cycle, through a window on the front door.
A laundry assistant called Q-rator provides smart features. The Laundry Recipe feature, for example, gives recommendations for wash cycles, when you key in info like color and fabric type. The HomeCare Wizard monitors the washer. It provides alerts about potential problems and how to troubleshoot them.
