Samsung and MPH Team Up to Bring New eBook App to Book Lovers

Just mere hours ago, Samsung and MPH Malaysia launched the MPHOnline app in Subang Parade, an application that is bound to put a smile on the faces of book lovers who are also Samsung smart device owners.

This free app can be found on the Samsung Apps store and is compatible with all Samsung and Android devices. Once downloaded, users will have access to over 200,000 eBooks, which means they can easily spend hours browsing the selections without having to worry about closing time anymore. After selecting the book of choice and purchasing it, the book will then be automatically transferred into their own personal library.

“Mobile apps have grown to become one of the most important aspects of the mobile experience. Our collaboration with MPH is one of the many initiatives we have undertaken to enrich the Samsung Apps ecosystem, providing consumers with a myriad of apps to suit their lifestyles. Designed to offer users increased convenience, the MPHOnline App offers users great variety of content within an easily navigable system,” said Vincent Chong, Head of Mobile Phone Division, Samsung Malaysia Electronics.

One of the great things about this app is that new titles will be added on a daily basis, so users will be truly spoilt for choice as they will be able to choose from all genres, such as romance, fiction, travel, fantasy, business and management, health, law and much more.

“The eBook is here to stay and this is the next step in the evolution of books and publishing. We are increasingly becoming a borderless world because of the Internet. This does not mean MPH is going completely digital but it helps complement our store presence as we aim to grow the brand beyond our shores,” said Datuk Abdullah Bin Abdul Rahman, Director, MPH Group of Companies Malaysia.

Besides offering bookworms an easier way to read books and store their favorite titles, MPH hopes to increase the exposure of homegrown writers globally. eBooks by local publishers will also be a lot cheaper compared to their printed counterparts. Some of the more renowned names who already have their books in the MPHOnline app or are in the the midst of getting their works converted include Tun Dr. Mahathir, Amber Chia and Sarimah Ibrahim.
