Roadmap of Intel Ivy Bridge Mobile Processors Leaked

The details of the mobile versions of Intel's Ivy Bridge CPUs have been revealed. According to AnandTech, there will be eight SKUs and three of them, quad-core mobile processors will be launched in April 2012. They are:

  • Intel Core i7-3720QM
  • Intel Core i7-3820QM
  • Intel Core i7-3920XM

The letter 'Q' after the processor number means that the Intel Core i7-3720QM Intel Core i7-3820QM are quad-cores processors. The letter 'X' is reserved for extreme processors and the Intel Core i7-3920XM happens to be the top-of-the-line CPU with an unlocked clock multiplier. The rest of the SKUs will be launched in May 2012.

The other 5 SKUs have 2 cores and support 4 threads per core, half the number of threads supported by the preceding three processors. They are:

  • Core i5-3320M
  • Core i5-3360M
  • Core i5-3427U
  • Core i7-3520M
  • Core i7-3667U

The 'U' suffix denotes that the processor is energy efficient and there are two such processors in the mobile Ivy Bridge lineup, the Core i5-3427U and Core i7-3667U.

The table compiled below is a comparison of the current offerings with the upcoming Ivy Bridge mobile processors. At a glance, the Ivy Bridge mobile processors offer increments in CPU frequencies. All the Ivy Bridge Core i5 and i7 processors will feature HD 4000 graphics, marking an upgrade from HD 3000 graphics featured in 2nd generation mobile Sandy Bridge processors.
