RIM Releases BlackBerry 7.1 OS

RIM Releases BlackBerry 7.1 OS

RIM's latest version of its mobile operating system, the BlackBerry 7.1 OS, is now available for the BlackBerry Bold 9900. Current BlackBerry Bold users can download the new BlackBerry 7.1 for free.

The new BlackBerry 7.1 OS incorporates a new feature called BlackBerry Tag that will change the way BlackBerry users share information and content through the use of NFC (Near Field Communication). This allows BlackBerry users to share content by simply tapping two NFC-enabled BlackBerrys together. Users can be more productive with the BlackBerry 7.1 OS, as they now can turn their BlackBerry smartphone into a mobile hotspot that can be shared by up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices, including notebooks and tablets.

Besides that, the new Battery Saving Mode feature has also been added, which allows customers to extend the battery life of the BlackBerry Bold 9900. This allows the smartphone to automatically adjust when to conserve its power as determined by the users.
