Redesigned LG Magic Remote Brings Enhanced Voice Functionality

Prior to CES 2013, LG Electronics announced that it has redesigned the Magic Remote to make voice commands even more simple and natural through enhanced language recognition. Users will now be able to issue commands in a more conversational manner. For example, the all-new Magic Remote will understand a phrase like "Show me Gangnam Style video". No more awkward pauses between saying the action and the content out loud.

“LG is committed to providing innovative home entertainment solutions and the Magic Remote is a key pillar of the CINEMA 3D Smart TV user experience,” said Havis Kwon, President and CEO of the LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company. “Building on an already impressive feature set, the latest version boasts accurate language recognition and its gesture; wheel and point control options make the Magic Remote stand out amongst its competition as a truly intuitive device.”

Furthermore, the four existing control options – gesture, point, wheel and of course, voice – will continue to serve LG's CINEMA 3D Smart TV lineup, from Smart TVs, set-top boxes, sound bars to Blu-ray players.

The LG Magic Remote will arrive in two flavors: Standard and Premium. The one that ships with LG's premium CINEMA 3D Smart TVs feature LED-backlit buttons, repositioned buttons and a more compact design.
